Legacy in Lenses: An International Heritage Promotional Video Competition, hosted by PUP EcoSync, is a significant event during the first day of the 2-day hybrid conference on January 10 and 11, 2024. This competition celebrates and preserves global heritage through compelling video storytelling where participants worldwide are invited to showcase their skills in capturing heritage's essence through their lenses. It's an opportunity to exhibit cultural diversity, historical significance, and creative expression.
The Legacy in Lenses competition promises an engaging experience, deepening understanding and appreciation for our global heritage tapestry. Expect a captivating display of films showcasing the beauty and significance of heritage worldwide!

II. Participants and Registration
1. The Legacy in Lenses: An International Heritage Promotional Video Competition is open to all bonafide undergraduate students worldwide who have accepted and duly confirmed the invitation sent by the EcoSync PUP or successfully registered on the link/QR code provided below.
2. Participants can join either individually or in a team of up to five members. Each participant or team is limited to submitting a single video entry.
3. Individuals or teams who wish to join the competition should fill-up all the necessary details in the online registration form on or before December 27, 2023.
III. Content Guidelines
1. The video must showcase elements of the country or place’s cultural heritage, featuring a specific cultural heritage site.
2. Submissions are required to feature 80% original footage.
3. Participants have the flexibility to present their entries either as a vlog, documentary, montage, or in any creative format they prefer.
4. Participants may highlight occurrences of cultural exchange and how their heritage has been impacted by, or has had an impact on, other cultures.
5. The entry shall not rely solely on images or videos; participants are required to incorporate narration, expressing their personal sentiments and perspectives, or any that applies.
IV. Submission Criteria
1. The video duration must fall within the range of 5 to 6 minutes. Entries less than 5 minutes will incur a point deduction, while those exceeding 6 minutes will face disqualification from the competition.
2. Video entries can be in any language/dialect, but must have English subtitles if the dialogue is in a different language.
3. Submissions should not have been previously utilized in any other competitions, nor should they have been published in any form of media or posted online for any purpose prior to the commencement and duration of the current competition.
V. Submission Guidelines
1. Submission deadline is on December 30, 2023.
2. Participants must submit their entries in digital formats such as mp4, mov, or wpv, with a minimum resolution of 720p.
3. An individual or team must provide their own Google Drive link containing their video entry and input it when they fill-out the Entry Submission Form (link to be followed). Required sections are:
- Name/s of the participant/s,
- Year and program,
- School/ institution,
- Google Drive link containing their entry
- A brief description of the video.
4. Videos must be submitted in this format:
a. If individual: Last Name, First name_ University/Campus.
(Ex.: Dela Cruz, JuanPUP Manila)
b. If by team, include the number of members in the team and only the representative will submit the entry with the representative’s: Last Name, First Name, Number of Members, University/Campus
(Ex.: Cruz, Julian5_PUP Manila)

VII. Judging Guidelines
1. The submitted videos will be shortlisted to Top 5 by the PUP Team Tanglaw, winner of the Most Outstanding Proposal in the 1st Asian Cultural Heritage Conservation and Utilization Research Proposal Competition organized by UNESCO, along with the Chairperson of PUP CTHTM, Assoc. Prof. Yolanda Montances.
2. The final selection of the Top 3 will be determined by the same judging panel.
3. The ranking of the Top 3 will be evaluated by esteemed judges, including both international and local experts, who will also serve as keynote speakers during the main event.
4. Entries will be judged according to the provided criteria above.
VIII. Prizes and Special Awards
Winners will be announced on January 10, 2024 during the event proper and on the organizer’s social media platforms. Prizes are as follows.
1. CHAMPION will receive a cash prize of Php 7,500. Additionally, s/he/they will be awarded with certificates acknowledging their achievement as the winner/s.
2. The FIRST RUNNER UP will receive Php 4,000 cash and be provided with certificate/s.
3. The SECOND RUNNER UP, will be awarded a cash prize of Php 1,500 and will receive certificate/s.
4. Certificates of participation will be distributed to all competing individuals/ teams during the awarding ceremony.
SPECIAL AWARD
People’s Choice Award
1. This award will be presented to the video that garnered the most hearts on our official Facebook page, Eco Sync: Syncing Nature to Tourism.
2. The Top 5 shortlisted videos will be revealed live on our official Facebook page on January 03, 2024.
3. The People's Choice Awardee will be given Php 500 and will receive certificate/s
4. The videos will be posted and made available for public voting on our official Facebook page on January 4, 2024.
5. The voting period will begin on January 4, 2024, and will closed 30 minutes before the commencement of the contest on January 10, 2024.
IX.Other Provisions
1. Videos should adhere to technical specifications, ensuring high visual and audio quality for a captivating viewing experience.
2. Participants are responsible for obtaining necessary permissions, copyrights, or licenses for any materials used in their videos that are not their own.
3. By submitting their entries, participants grant the organizers the right to use the videos for promotional purposes related to the competition and conference.
4. The Organizing Committee reserves all rights to modify the terms and conditions of this competition.
5. The decision of the Organizing Committee and the Board of Judges are final and irrevocable.
